Ann-Sofie Gelfius

Delicate, skilfully thrown stoneware with a matt-black glaze has become Anne-Sofie’s signature, but she also works with other techniques and materials when they better suit the form and expression of the piece. Both her practical ceramics with their simple, plain shapes, and her sculptural ovals are characterised by a sense of peaceful concentration. Ann-Sofie was one of Kaolin’s founder members in 1978 and she has been a driving force in the organisation ever since.
